Artist Bio

Kübra Boy is a multidisciplinary artist based in Istanbul. She began her studies in the Traditional Turkish Arts department at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 2010 and successfully graduated in 2017.

Throughout her artistic career, Boy has garnered awards in various group exhibitions and competitions, with one of the significant milestones being her inaugural solo exhibition titled 'Memory of Victory,' held in 2019 at the prestigious Merkur Art Gallery in Turkey.

In her art, Kübra Boy approaches traditional Turkish ceramic art with a contemporary perspective. Particularly, she delves into examining the effects and consequences of modern human interaction with nature, which she reflects in her works. Utilizing traditional Turkish ceramic art as her primary medium, she not only emphasizes cultural connections but also underscores the sensitivity of the subject matter through the fragile nature of the material. By combining different techniques and materials such as sculpture, relief, found objects, and waste materials, she explores Turkish ceramic art from various angles.

Since 2017, Kübra Boy has continued her artistic endeavors at her studio in Kadıköy, Istanbul. She views this space as a nurturing environment for her creative processes and the development of new projects. With the aim of leaving an emotional and intellectual impact on her audience through her art, she diligently works towards furthering her artistry with each passing day, constantly making new discoveries and pushing the boundaries of her artistic expression.
